DEPARTMENT `Bb' CATTLE — BEEF

  1. No exhibitor shall be allowed more than two entries in any one class. Any exhibitor can enter an exhibit in 2 of the 3 shows, but must be the same exhibitor for the same animal. 4-H, FFA, and/or Open Class shall have the provided registration and make sure its received for each entry for each show by the date entries are set to close for the show. This rule must be strictly adhered to in order to provide accurate placing recording at each show. Any entry not on the pre-printed entry listing cannot receive a premium. Exhibitors of livestock cannot win more than two premiums per class. There is a maximum of 15 FFA entries (includes group classes) per exhibitor.
  2. Entry Fee: $3.00 per head. Register entries ONLINE through Fair Entry or by mailing a completed mail in entry form and a check before July 10th to guarantee stalling. Mail Dairy entries to the address listed above. There is no entry fee for FFA exhibitors. Entries accepted on a first come, first-serve basis until barns are full.
  3. Exhibitors must furnish their own hay, straw, and feed. Due to limited space, supplies cannot be stored in the stalls. Once all cattle are stalled some areas for supplies may be designated.
  4. Judging begins with the 4-H show at 9:00 AM THURSDAY. Immediately following the 4-H show will be the Beef Babies then all open class beef to follow.
  5. Cattle check-in is Tuesday Noon to 8 pm and Wednesday 8 am to Noon.
  6. All cattle must be checked in at the 4-H Livestock check in by 12:00 PM Wednesday
  7. Cattle will be released at 7:00 pm on the last day of the fair.
  8. Weigh-in Wednesday 10:30 am - 12:00 pm.
  9. ALL Beef exhibitors must attend a required exhibitor meeting on Wednesday evening. This includes 4-H, FFA, and Open Class.
  10. NO BREED SHOWS. All breeds compete together.
  11. It is expected that barn chores are completed, and the cattle and barns are ready for the public to visit by 12:00 PM Wednesday through Sunday of the fair.

Beef Babies

  • Open to all children too young for the 4-H Beef show. All participants receive a ribbon. This is just for fun to get the kids out in the ring with their animals.
  • The child must be able to walk on their own and hold the halter lead. Child may be accompanied by adult.
  • Youth exhibiting in any 4-H classes are NOT eligible for this show.
  • Calves brought in for this opportunity only are not required to stay for the duration of the fair, but all must have state approved vaccination ID tags and follow the same health rules for all cattle exhibited at the fair.
  • This division allows for all beef breeds, market or breeding animals and dairy steers under a year of age.
  • Beef Babies Show will be the first class of the open class beef show, beginning 20 minutes after the 4h show (approximately noon).
  • Contact Superintendent with questions. Pre entry for this class is appreciated, but not required.

FFA ‘Bc’ Beef

  • Entry must have signature of Ag Supervisor.
